While Cinco de Mayo has no real major significance to modern day México (aside from one tiny town there named Puebla), most folks here in the US do find themselves thanking México today for the excuse to eat some good Mexican food and partake in some tasty beverages. I never need an excuse to eat tacos, though, let's be honest. ;-) However, it seemed like a perfect day to share a recent Mexican artist-inspired shoot with my 9 year old daughter, who pleaded to come with me on "take your child to work day." I'd been waiting for the perfect opportunity to visit and photograph Pittsburgh's Northside gem, Randyland. What better inspiration than colorful Mexican artist Frida Kahlo! My sweet girl got the full treatment: hair, makeup and wardrobe styling. AND lunch afterward. I'd say she made the best of her day on the job with mom! Hope you enjoy :)
