I feel so fortunate to live in a neighborhood surrounded by amazing families like the one I'm about to share with you. Our neighborhood is filled with caring families that truly take to heart the old adage "it takes a village..." We come together, taking care of each others' kids, carpooling, safety watch, you name it. This community of people is one I'm incredibly honored to be a part of.

What I especially love, as a photographer, is when families (like those I've mentioned above) invite me in to their homes to know them better and eventually photograph their beautiful chaos called family. It really IS beautiful and messy business raising a family, isn't it? This particular family is so special to me. They were among the first neighbors we met upon moving back to Pittsburgh, welcoming us warmly and openly. They are a former military family, now back home to their roots in Pittsburgh. Our children play together and attend school together daily. I love how our lives, though varied in so many ways, brought us to this exact place in time where our paths would meet and be intertwined for years to come. Thank you for inviting me to photograph your gorgeous family, capturing those moments of childhood innocence and family togetherness that keep passing us by all too quickly.
